Our Role at Zion |
In our church we
have many whom God has blessed with beautiful voices and musical ability. Each of us has been moved by their beautiful
voices praising our Lord. Who among us has not wished that we were blessed
with that type of talent? I know I have. My gifts from God did not include any type of
musical ability. I am tone deaf and unable to
keep a beat. My sister and I joke that God
blessed us with the desire to sing and we pray for those who must listen to us sing. I take great comfort in the fact that God has
given each of us the gifts we need to spread His Word.
Those gifts may not bring the recognition or prestige that you may feel you
deserve. Just as Simon Peter was appalled at
the thought of Jesus humbling Himself to wash His disciples feet, we often let pride
get in the way serving God. I know that I
have been guilty of that. For months I tried
to figure out what good I was to our church. Instead
of trying to use my gifts to serve the Lord, I focused on the fact that I was not given a
gift that would allow me to hold a more prestigious position in the church. Once I focused on my gifts, I found that there
were many ways to serve the Lord in my church. Many
of us in the congregation can contribute in ways that are often overlooked, such as giving
a ride to someone who needs it or simply praying for someone who comes to mind. These actions may go unnoticed by the
congregation, but God sees everything and He is pleased.
Serving the Lord does not require monumental talent; instead it can be as
simple as a Prayer.

Praise & Worship
at Zion |

Rosemary & Charles
|
I go to church for
the primary purpose of worshiping God and to hear His Word. At Zion I am blessed on both counts. Zion is truly a place of worship, a place of joy,
and a dwelling place of the Lord. One is able
to gain strength, comfort, peace and joy when entering into the spirit of worship and Zion
provides a great place to worship with guitar music and a variety of worship songs. Pastor Rick follows worship service with an
anointed message from the Word of God that supplies food for your soul. Zion is also a small, friendly church and its
members care for one another in a way not often experienced in large churches. Come and grow with Zion and let God minister to
you and bless you in your walk with Him. You
won't be disappointed.

Families With Children |
My
name is Cheryl Jordan and my family has been attending Zion City Church for three years. As an African American family, it is a blessing to
worship the Lord with our brothers and sisters of different
ethnic backgrounds.
The
childrens bible class has been a joy to our three small children. It is encouraging to know that while I am being
ministered to each Sunday, the children are also learning about the Lord.
